Can Syphilis Be Transmitted Through Kissing?

Question: Likely have syphilis I have been treated , due to rash My doctor did blood work will have answer tomorrow. I am married I have not had sex with my spouse for at least a year. We do kiss but even French kissing has not taken place for at least 6 months. I do not want to jeopardize my spouses health. Is it likely that gentle lip kisses or contact with the rash ie sleeping together or holding hands could lead to infection. I want to spare any emotional pain but I do not at to jeopardize anyone's

Only after confirmation only, you have to worry about Syphilis. Just by rashes alone, it is difficult to say about Syphilis.
Syphilis can not be transmitted through kissing and hugging or touching. You had mentioned that you had sex with your wife not recently within a year. But not mentioned that how long since you got married. When would be your encounter with Syphilis?.
Depending upon these factors only we can predict the possibility of transmission to your wife. We will discuss more after you get the result of the test.
