Can Stress Cause Proteinuria?

default
Posted on Thu, 8 Dec 2016
Question: I have noticed bubbles in my urine. I had a urine test done - negative protein, trace ketone, liquid gravity 1.002
I am post menapausal and have had prolapse from the birth of my babies. Could that be causing the bubbles? I have no other symptoms. Also had a tragedy in the family causing me anxiety - can emotional stress cause the bubbles? My glucose levels are normal - blood test was normal as well. The bubbles are not foamy, just a few clear bubbles.

Brief Answer:
Bubbles can be normal, not from prolapse or anxiety

Detailed Answer:
Dear patient,

if the mentioned diagnostics showed no signs of protein or other pathological findings, the bubbles in your urine are most likely a normal pnenomenon.

Relation to anxiety or prolaps is also not likely. You may repeat the urine test to make sure.

Best regards

Should I do a 24-hour urine test just to be sure or is the urinalysis test very sensitive to protein
