Question: Can you give a XXXXXXX baby paracetamol? She was born at 30 weeks and is now 7 weeks old weighing 2.9kgs. If so what is the correct dose?

Paracetamol can be given safely to a baby with gestational age of 38 weeks (30+8). The dose will be 10-15 mg/kg/dose and can be given at an interval of 6-8 hours.
Most of the paracetamol drops contain 100 mg in each ml.So for 2.9 kg the dose would be about 0.3 to 0.4 ml.
