Brief Answer:
NO!

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you so much for this query.

Please, Inexium and activated charcoal do not work in the same way or are they used to treat the same disease condition. Inexium is used mainly for acid problems while activated charcoal is used for excess gas in the tummy. If you have any problems with Inexium, report them to us or to your doctor for evaluation and management.

I hope this helps. I wish you well. Thanks for using our services and feel free to ask for more information and clarifications if need be.

Thank you Dr. Ditah. Can I use an herbal stress formula supplement like green tea, chamomille, etc.? I just can't seem to calm my stomach down and I'm tired of trying all these different remedies. I also have a hiatal hernia. Just had a colonoscopy and was told everything is OK but my stomach keeps triggering anxiety attacks (have been taking lorazepam for over 10 years) and one low dose aspirin each night after dinner. Sorry for the many questions. I'm at my wit's end with all of this.

Brief Answer:
If these herbal teas help, take them as they pose no added risk!

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Hiatal hernia is the likely reason why this GERD cannot be controlled. This is because the defect that causes acid to leave the stomach into the oesophagus and requires medication all the times. Ask you doctors if this is amenable to surgery as it would provide a one time and probably full cure.

Try the tea. If it helps, it helps. However, it is difficult to tell whether it would pt not. Because it presents no extra risk to your health, i have no reasons to deny that you give it a try.

I wish you well.
