Brief Answer:
can potentially be used, both control bp

Detailed Answer:
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

They would both help with high blood pressure if this is the reason for use but you should speak to your doctor about the change.

They are both anti hypertensives (bp medications) but are in different families or class of drug.

Carvedilol is in the family called beta blocker. In addition to high blood pressure it would also help to : reduce high heart rates, useful in heart failure and angina (blockage of blood vessels in the heart causing chest pain).

Losartan is an ARB. It helps with hypertension but may also be helpful heart failure.
If there is any history of problems with this class of drug should not use. Other members would atacand, micardis, diovan

The side effect profile would vary since they are from different drug families.

Summary:(1) they are both bp meds and would both help to control blood pressure
(2)can potentially be substituted but it would be best to discuss with your doctor who may be aware of any previous problems with this class of medication

I hope this helps, feel free to contact with any other queries
