Can HIV Be Contracted Through Unprotected Oral Sex?

default
Posted on Tue, 14 Feb 2017
Question: unprotected oral for 20 minutes with protistute..possibly drug user. Didnt notice any blood after cleaning up. Rash after 6 days...now 14 days later rash is still here but kind of fading. No fever, no sore throat, normal cbc, but the woman said the rash could have been viral because my blood did not react to bacteria? feels like i have tenderness in the neck, but that could be because i keep feeling for swollen nodes. Super stressed and starting to get fatigued quicker at the 2 week mark... is this hiv!!??

By the way...I was the one receiving the oral sex.

Brief Answer:
Your symptoms are unlikely to be due to HIV.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome to HCM.
Thanks for posting your query.
Oral sex carries a very low risk for HIV as per CDC, XXXXXXX USA.(https://www.cdc.gov/hiv/risk/estimates/riskbehaviors.html)
Human Saliva does not contain infectious concentration of virus unless it is contaminated with blood.
Earliest HIV manifestations can occur only 3-4 weeks after the exposure, not earlier than this (Not at all possible to have symptoms by 6 days). There is no rash typically exclusive for HIV. Your rashes seem not related to HIV. Nodes over neck might be due to various other causes and the feeling of fatigues might be due to your anxiety.

Does this look like the ARS rash in your opinion? And ive never ever heard only 3 to 4 weeks....Ive read 2 to 4 weeks. And also, does acute hiv cause repeated rash outbreaks? Is it likely to have a rash and then not another symptom until 7 days later?

Brief Answer:
Your symptoms are not related to HIV.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome back.
Practically symptoms of acute infection in HIV infection will occur 3 weeks after the entry of organisms. Fever, throat infection is more common with acute infection. Isolated skin rashes are unusual in acute infection. Your skin rashes are unlikely to be due to HIV. The term ARS is not used nowadays.

ok...and lastly...Where in your experience is this rash most likely to occur? Have you ever seen it only on the shoulders and neck...and look like 2 different rashes

Brief Answer:
Rashes are unlikely to be due to HIV.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome back.
Dermatological conditions would be better diagnosed by direct and close inspection and if necessary palpation of the lesions and adjacent parts. It is very difficult to say the diagnosis only by seeing the photographs.
Anyhow, from the pictures sent by you, I would like to extend my opinion on your condition as either a chromic type of Tinea Versicolar or a type of drug rash. It is better to consult a Dermatologist and get well soon.

Thank you so much...

Actually I work 3 jobs and have recently renewed a prescription of Phentermine. But ive drink hard alcohol some hours later to "take the edge off" XXXXXXX Daniels straight...and a couple of times crown royal. Not a whole lot but enough to get a good buzz and relax. My risky incident was XXXXXXX 2. Prescription XXXXXXX 4. From the 4th to the 9th i took 1 Phentermine a day...and probably drink hours later every one of those days. I was wondering if that may be the reason. The first pictures I sent you was all that broke out on me. Then this past Sunday morning I took another pill...followed by drinking later that night.. the next couple days i noticed more rashes but not as distinct as the first one. Well this will help me relax a bit until another 15 days till testing time. Thanks again Doc!

Brief Answer:
Possibility of drug rash is more.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome back.
The drug Phentermine is not advisable to take along with Alcohol.
There is every possibility for your rashes to be due to hypersensitivity of the drug Phentermine. Your history also suggests this possibility, as your rashes became more with the the second dosage. Anyhow consult a Dermatologist as early as possible and get well soon.
