Hello and welcome to health care magic, I have read your question and will try to address your query.

Chlamydia is a bacterial infection and one the most common STD. It can be transmitted from vaginal and anal sex. Transmission via oral sex and from infected eye, although rare, is also possible. Mothers can transmit this bacteria to their fetus aswell.

Chlamydia can infect the vagina, cervix, anal canal, penis, urethra and eyes.

Symptoms, such as burning micturation, vaginal/penile discharge and lower abdominal pain, develop 2-3 weeks after infection. If untreated sometimes it may remain dormant and later present will complications like pelvic inflammatory disease in females or epididymitis in males.

I would recommend taking your partner to STDs clinic and get her tested for chlamydia, doctor will take vaginal swabs for testing.

To prevent transmission abstain from Intercourse while infected or use latex condom every time you choose to have vaginal, anal or oral sex.

Treatment is easy, Course of antibiotics such as Azithromycin or doxycycline. Authorities recommend treatment of both partners and retesting after 3 weeks of treatment.

Hopefully i was able to address your concerns, if you need further help feel free to ask.

Regards
Dr.MS.Khalil.
