Are Proteins And Pre-workout Drinks Safe During Pregnancy?

default
Posted on Mon, 29 Sep 2014
Question: Hello! I just recently found out that I am pregnant and am only 5 wks along. I have always been VERY active and practice Crossfit about 10 hrs of training a wk. hence, I love my protein and pre-workout drinks. In addition I enjoy coloring my hair every other month, with my next visit set for oct when I'll be 2 mos along. My question are: what protein is safe for pregnant women and the baby?; is there a safe pre-workout I can still take (since I realize most contain caffeine)?; and can I still color my hair while pregnant? I'm a bit freaked out y'all and realllly appreciate your time and help here as I navigate through unchartered waters!

You should always take healthy and balanced diet which are having balanced of protein, carbohydrate, fat, minerals and vitamins.
- Protein which are safe during pregnancy are egg protein, dal, almond, nuts, meat, milk, cottage cheese, Yougart etc.
- Exercise are good during pregnancy because it will help your body to build up a stamina during pregnancy and labour.
- But before starting any exercise regime you should consult your treating doctor.
- meditation, yoga and walking is also very effective.
- heavy lifting are not allowed
- You should cut of your caffeine intake during pregnancy but you can take fruit juice, fruits or nuts as a prework out.
- Much research are not done on use of hair colour during pregnancy but because very less quantity absorbed, so effect on baby is also very less.
- but in my opinion frequent hair colouring should be avoided and please use organic or safe hair colour.
First and foremost important thing is enjoy your motherhood and be happy.
