Thanks for your query. I read your query and I understand your concerns.

Following is my reply:

1) For Indian woman, the fasting sugar needs to be less than 92. Your wife has 96 which is called overt diabetes.

2) One hour after GTT it should be less than 180 which is 194 in your wife. This also falls under overt diabetes.

3) Two hours after GTT value has to be less than 153 which is 130 and is normal. No need to worry.

4) Hence in view of above facts I suggest there is absolutely no need to start her on insulin. Just follow diet regimen which is best way to control as of now.

5) Repeat the GTT at 28 weeks again and see if there is need to start on insulin if values come very high.

As of now diet is enough.
