Pain Due To Surgeries For Mesentric Ischemia, Taking Norco. Can I Try Oxycodone ?
Pain specialist needed for advice regarding medication for stomach pain(12 yrs) as a result of 3 surgeries for mesenteric eschemia.
I have been taking Norco 10/325 for 10 yrs every3 hrs and probably as a result of so much acetaminophen have developed cyst on my liver and kidney(r).
Would like to try Oxycodone.
I have a "short gut" and rather than become constipated by the Norco it prevents my diarrhea. I poop 3x day(hard).

NORCO contains HYDROCODONE.
Both HYDROCODONE snd OXYCODONE are narcotic drugs and are controlled substances.Although both the medicines have similar side effcts and interactions,they are different drugs.
OXYCODONE is supposed to be more potent drug than HYDROCODON,although many people feel differently.
While HYDROCODONE is always available as combination product OXYCODONE opus available singly or in combination also.
You can try OXYCODNE plain as it doesn't have acetaminophen in it and hence the side effects of ACETAMINOPHEN won't be there.
As far as which of these is better and prove to be good for you would be known only after you use it because as such Thete is no way to tell which of these two drugs is better in terms of efficacy,safety and tolerability.

yes yo can as acetamenophen has the effects written by you
if suits you and no allergy you can use it and fr constipation can add luxative
and can add antacid to keep the acidity under control
