Suggest Treatment For Anal Fissure

Ive had an anal fissure for about 3 months now. Im 18, a transsexual female, and I m assuming I gained it from intercourse. What can you advise as in medications or natural treatments. At times it will feel like it is healing then a week or so later it will go back to square one and hurt like fire

Hi,

For anal fissure, you can be prescribed stool softener for easy defecation and will help in the painful fissure. Anti inflammatory medication also can be prescribed.

If no improvement with medication than surgical treatment should be done. You should consult a general surgeon for a detailed evaluation.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Dr Parth Goswami, General & Family Physician
