Have Fever, Back Pain, Shaking. Alternative To Aspirin Or Ibuprofen?

my 19 year old daughter is scheduled to have her tonsils removed in less than two weeks. Her doctors have told us not to give her aspirin or ibuprofen during this two week period. She has however developed a fever of 100 degrees which is causing her to shake. She is also complaining of back pain. Is there anything I can give her to help her feel better.

Hello,

Tonsils is a highly vascular organ.

Post surgical bleeding is a complication in any surgery.

Aspirin and ibuprofen has anti platelet action and causes bleeding by preventing clot formation.

For this reason these drugs need to be avoided before surgery.

You may use
1. paracetamol to control fever.
2. Tepid sponging.
