What Do White Spots On The Tongue Of A Child Indicate?
My 2 granddaughters, ages 7 and 18 months have white sores on their tongues. The 7 yr old spent 2 days this last week with fever and vomiting - she is just complaining of the sores this evening. The 18 mth old has 3 fairly large sores that I can see. Their mother is running a fever right now, and dry heaving. What can I do for my granddaughters or is there nothing to worry about?
As per your query it seems that your grand daughters are suffering from viral infection leading to fever and sores in mouth..
As viral infection is communicable and can spread from one individual to another by close contact therefore needs to be taken care of and avoid close contact with infected individuals..
I would suggest you to consult a Paediatrician and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigation like blood test can help in diagnosis and treatment can be done accordingly..
As of now you can apply numbing gel containing Lignocaine over the sores to relieve pain.. Give soft bland diet.. Give Tylenol to relieve fever and pain.. Give plenty of water to maintain hydration..
Hope this information helps.. Thanks and regards.
