Yellow Bump Between Crack Of Lips, Painful And White In Color. Is It A Cold Sore?
I have a small yellow bump between the crack of my lips, Where they meet in the corner. I woke up yesterday and it was painful and white I whipped it off and woke up this Morning it was a yellow bump, it hurt really bad even when I tried to open my mouth. Is it a cold sore?
You seem to having angular cheilitis, inflammation of corners of mouth with secondary bacterial infection. It could be due to a lot of causes like dry lips due to cold, drooling, nutritional deficiency etc.
Take vitamin B complex supplements. Apply topical antibiotics and steroid combination like fusidic acid /neomycin / mupirocin with hydrocortisone or beclomethasone. Keep the area well moisturized.
For pain, take oral anti inflammatory like ibuprofen or paracetamol. Hope I helped.
Seems more like a case of folliculitis(infection of a hair follicle).
I would advice that you take a prescription oral antibiotic from you local practitioner.
Topical antibacterial ointment like mupirocin 2% needs to be applied twice daily.
take care regards
