X Ray Of Elbow Showed Tennis Elbow, Cartilage Issue. Potential Cancer. Had MRI. What Is Suggested?
If I just had an xray on my elbow, due to what I thought was tennis elbow.....the PA came back in with a weird look on his face and said I have this "spot" on my bone, it was really strange cause he asked how long I have had the pain and I said off and on for 10 years due to sports but the last few weeks has been excruciating. He ordered and MRI and said he believes the pain is cartilage issues. Maybe I am overreacting but I have an armpit lymphnode that just popped up and is a little tender but nothing crazy. Would the radiologist be able to see potential bone cancer on the xray, is it that noticeable compared to this cartilage diagnosis??

Generally, bony lesions (benign & malignant) are seen on xrays as lytic lesions. Cartilage lesions are not visualized on xrays and MRI scan is the diagnostic tool of choice for all soft tissue problems.
Either FNAC/Biopsy of the lesion is needed to establish a histological diagnosis. Management of the condition will depend on the diagnosis made.
