With A Drop In HCG,could It Be A Miscarriage?

Had an untrasound done today what we originally thought was 6 weeks 1 day, looks like 5.5wk, gestational sack, and yolk sack present. HCG was 3849 on Monday, today HCG is 3772, not a big drop but still a drop. No one seems worried about this but me. We are doing a 2nd untasound in one week. With the drop in HCG could it be a miscarriage, or is the normal ultrasound, and no miscarriage symtoms more important?

Hi,
Indeed a drop in the hCG levels should be viewed with caution, but, in the present context, you may wait for a correlation with a trans-vaginal sonogram. As there is only a slight drop, a positive sonographic finding is of significance. If it happens to be a miscarriage, you would, in addition, note that the signs and symptoms of early pregnancy like weakness, nausea, frequency of bladder etc. that were felt earlier, seem to decline or disappear. Hope your query has been answered. Wish you good health.
