Hello,

I evaluated your concern thoroughly. According to your narration this seems substantial amount of intestinal infection (as there are blood signs). Imodium is an anti-motility agent causing sluggishness of the intestinal movements with decreasing the quantity of water in stools, causing stomach pain as major side effect.

In your case it is strongly recommended herewith not to repeat Imodium. Suggestions for your better recovery are:
• In our clinic we prefer broad spectrum of antibiotic to cover the causative intestinal pathogens on intravenous or oral therapy basis depending upon the clinical severity, Metronidazole containing pack gives best results.
• Plenty of liquids preferably boiled water, coconut water, lemon juice, green tea, coffee, butter milk, and electoral solution
• Soft light diet with fresh curd at intervals
• Maintain BP, weight level
Proton pump inhibitor Prilosec, Lactobacillus agents help to fasten the recovery
• Avoid stress, anxiety
• Avoid smoking/alcohol

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel
