Will Taking Gemzar And Water Pill Subside The Pain Caused By Chemotherapy For Pancreatic Cancer?

My mom has stage 4 pancreatic cancer. She is on chemo with gemzar since october 2013. Her feet have become swollen and beat red. What is causing this? She has been taking a water pill. What can be done? When she stops elevating them, she is an enormous amount of pain.

There is possibility of thromboembolic phenomenon leading to deep vein thrombosis (DVT). it is common feature with most of the malignancies particularly endocrine neoplasia. Rule it out.
