Will My Father Be Able To Live With Only One Lung?

My 87 year old father has congestive heart failure and other issues with his heart including an aortic aneurisym and since January has had many thoracentesis to draing build up of fluid from his right lung. A month ago they had to surgically detach the tissue in the lung area that was attaching to the diaphragm and the lower lobe was completely collapsed. I believe it may have been called debrasion or something of that nature. I do not live with my father but was told today that the right lung is now totally collapsed. Although I realize death can come at any time, can he live with only one lung (as he is apparently doing right now)?
