Will Micronor And Norethisterone Taken Together Will Delay Period?

Hi I currently take micronor regularly as my contraception ... I want to delay my period next weekend as I am away. Sought advice from a pharmacist, as I have started taking norethisterone 5mg today 3 times daily. He suggested take my micronor and norethisterone 5mg is fine. Is this ok ?

Hello and welcome,

Micronor and norethisterone are the same. Both contain the same drug norethisterone. So you are taking a double dose of norethisterone.

There is no need for this. Just continue taking the micronor tablets or norethisterone [ any one ] as long as you want to delay the period. It will not work more than 7-10 days and breakthrough bleeding may occur.
