Will Coming Off Microgynon 30 Help In Stopping Severe Hair Loss Causing Bald Patches?
I have been dramatically losing hair over the past few years resulting in bald patches. The doctor said it was alopecia probably to do with stress. It is not growing back but i want to come off microgynon 30 and i heard thid causes hair loss which i really can t afford to go through given that my hair is already sparse and patchy but i don t want to be on the pill for ever. Will it be safe for my hair loss to come off the pill?
Microgyon (levonorgestrel/ethinyl estradiol) can cause hair loss but it's a very infrequent side effect. If other reasons for hair loss are ruled out, you can try stopping Microgyon. But ask your consultant for alternatives that contains norgestimate or desogestral as progesterone component as they have relatively lesser or no incidence of hair fall. I would recommend you to consult your trichologist and rule out other causes that might be causing hair loss. After ruling out, you can follow the above points. I hope the above information helps you. Thanks for writing into healthcaremagic.
