Will Zoloft And Sertraline Cause Any Heart Rate Change?

Hello. I am a woman 27 years old. 125 lbs and 5 foot 7. I have been taking Zoloft 100mg per day for about 3 months now & just started on Sertraline 50mg one a day for about 4 days now. I noticed about a 4 months ago my heart would beat really hard one beat like every 10 sec (i was just standing at the park when it happened) . It was almost to the point of being painful. This happens every now and then. I noticed it happens mostly when I lay down for bed. When it happens I get really worried & scared. But im afraid im overreacting. Every time I get my pulse & bp taken, it comes back perfect. Any thoughts?

Hello,

Zoloft and sertealine does not have any role in heart rate. You can go for a serial ECG is required to rule out any cardiac arrhythmia.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain
