Will HIV Pcr Test Can Be False Negative If Tested After 15 Days Of Exposure?

helloo sir
pls tell me the reliability of pcr test of hiv after 15 days post exposure which came negative,i also had rapid test and elisa for HIV at 84 days and rapid test again after 93 days all negative. i m from india i had unprotected oral and protected vaginal sex with a sexworker in Thailand.

Hi there indian maharaj.
At the outset your nationality or that of the person you had sex with is unimportant.
What matters is that you had 'unprotected sex' albeit oral.
I am not too concerned about your rapid tests for HIV. These need to be repeated at a 6 month interval for best interpretations & if 2 tests are negative at a 6 month interval, it can be said you are negative for the virus.
The PCR test at 15 days post exposure is fairly accurate or more sensitive than other tests during that period.
So between the two, it appears you have the "all clear"!
Please do remember your take home message from all this is not the accuracy of the HIV tests but that 'prevention' is better than 'cure'..especially when the cure itself is questionable.
Please always practice 'Safe Sex'~!
