Hi,I am Dr. Alexander H. Sheppe (Psychiatrist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello, Ive been taking Cerazette for about 6 months now and Im having recurrent Thrush infections. I did not have this problem before. Sex is becoming very painful and always seems to set the infection off again. Is there a possibility Cerrazette could be causing the infection? Thankyou.
There are many factors that contribute towards a yeast infection and one of them can be POP's as well. The contraceptive pill that you are taking could be a contributive factor, but before this I would prefer first adequately treating the infection with anti-fungal medication and abstaining from sexual intercourse until 2 weeks after the last dose, at the least. Also avoid all other contributing factors as well like avoiding a moist environment in your genital/undergarment region, taking a shower at least once a day, changing your undergarments as frequently as possible, washing up after sexual intercourse, etc.
Hope this helps.
Best wishes.
