hi Doctor, my wife last month MC date is 14th may and in 21 april we got to know that c is pregnant but right now we are not ready for that so she has takenoraly, mifepristone 200mg , on 22nd april at 10 pm then 4pic misopristol 200mg on 23rd april 10pm after that she spotted around 1mm thick and 1 long blood cloth 3 times and bleeding after around 9 to 10 hours. after 12 hours of 4 misoprostol she had taken 2 more misoprostone orally but no bleeding till now..... I am worried because she is still feeling sensitivity on he nipple what she was feeling before taken the medication and which was not there after mifepristone it has gone off.. Is that mean she is still pregnant or abortion is not successful
Hello, I have gone through your query and understood the concern. It is difficult to predict whether an induced medical abortion is complete or not, especially when there is no medical surveillance, a prior sonogram to locate the gestation sac and know the age of the pregnancy and is self-induced. Pregnancy symptoms can persist for sometime irrespective of whether the abortion has been complete or not. This is because of the presence of the pregnancy hormone. As the hormone levels fall, so do the symptoms. In the current scenario, you need to consult a specialist for further management. Hope this helps.
