General & Family Physician 's  Response
HI,
I understand your concern,
- Your sister is now around 44-45 years of age.If she wants to conceive now, she has to get her thyroid problem under controlled by proper medication under an endocrinologist's care.
- She has to ascertain her ovulation status by ovulation study & also her husband's semen analysis to confirm sufficient/ normal counts, sperm . SHe can go for IUI if every thing is normal.
- If sperms or ovulation is at fault ( because of age ).. she can try sperm donation & IUI / sarrogation ( using some other woman's uterus & husband's sperms.( IUI)/ Test tube baby.. under fertility specialist doctor's advise & guidance/ care .
- If nothing helps.. she can go for adoption.. which is the nobelest way to help humanity!
thanks.
