Hello and welcome to HCM,
The symptom of constant itching is seen due to accumulation of bilirubin in blood.
As you have mentioned that you have history of gall stones, the gall stones can be the cause of raised bilirubin levels.
Gamma glutamyl transferase is the enzyme which is secreted by the biliary epithelium.
When there is any kind of obstruction in the biliary tract, the levels of gamma GT are raised.
Gall stones can cause obstruction of the biliary tract.
Obstruction can lead to increase in levels of gamma GT.
You need to consult your doctor for prescription of drugs which will decrease the levels of bilirubin and hence relieve itching.
Once the bilirubin level is decreased, gall stones can be operated upon.
The treatment for gall stones is surgical removal of gall bladder along with gall stones.

Thanks and take care
