Why Do I Have Period Cramps And Brown Vaginal Discharge?

Im a 38 year old female, healthy woman. I have 3 boys 21,18,16. My tubes are permanently tied and clipped. Back in July I had a ovation procedure done to remove 3 small fibroids. My periods are lighter butmy cramps are still bad. I just had my cycle Dec 23-26. Now I feel like I about to have another cycle. There is a brownish blood content in my vagina.. like about to start again. I have small pains on my right side.. nothing that would require pain killers, and it comes and goes.

OB and GYN Specialist 's  Response
Hello,

Considering that you are tubectomized, with history of myomectomy 6 months back, the irregular shedding of endometrium in form of darkish brown discharge is common in most cases.

However , it would be best if you can get a hormonal profile and an ultrasound pelvis done to check for endometrial thickness which can then be phased with the cycle and then treatment can be planned if necessary based on the report.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Sameer Kumar
