Why Am I Having Fluctuation In Blood Pressure After Taking Diltiazem Instead Of Adalat?

I am under medication for blood pressure and cholesterol..Two days ago I changed my medication taking adalat instead of diltiazem , metomorpol for the first time , ramipril, hydrochlordiazid, and lipitor. the second day I changed the medication I felt fluctuation to my blood pressure and also pressure to my chest. I thought metomorpot was going to help for angina and chest pain. Your explanation is appreciated.

Welcome to Health care magic. I am Dr Charu , I will shortly try to help you with my opinion.
You should not change the medications your self. They are adjusted according to target blood pressure.
For a heart and hypertensive patient , following medications are preferred to be used as they have many additional advantages. But they need to be taken under medical supervision:
1. Beta Blockers likeMetoprolol
2. ACE Inhibitors like Enalapril , Ramipril
3. Aspirin + Atorvastatin may be added for prevention from heart attacks.
Based on the available details, this is my best advice for you. You should discuss with your doctor and share my opinion , I am sure he/she will agree to my opinion.
