Why Am I Having Blood In My Stool?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Noted the history and understood your concerns.
Painless bleeding per rectum in stool, with known history of piles/hemorrhoids in past is indicative of hemorrhoids only.
Another reasons can be a polyp and is usually painless, bleeding due to fissure in ano will cause some discomfort or pain.
Hence I would advise you the following:
Stop alcohol and spicy foods.
Have Sitz bath in a tub with warm water.
Laxatives only if the stools are hard.
Per-rectal digital examination, ano-proctoscopy by a General Surgeon so that a proper diagnosis and management can be done.
Take foods high in fibers.
Avoid stress and anxiety.
Follow the advise of the Surgeon on examination.
