Which Medication Can Substitute For Tramadol In Case Of Chronic Ankle Pain?

Hi I am in my honeymoon in honolulu, and ran out of my medication and was trying to find out if I could get a written prescription for my medication so that I may go pick it up locally. I take tramadol 50 mg twice 3 times a day for chronic ankle pain. I am here for another week. So that is all I would need till I got back home to see my doctor. I tried getting a hold him but cannot because he is out of his office. The ankle is my right ankle and I have pain with it for about a year now. I would really appreciate your help thank you.

Hi there,

Thanks for your query.

You can take any anti-inflammatory pain-killer such as, ibuprofen, Naproxen or Aceclofenac, though I am not certain if either of these drugs would be available OTC at your present location/country, without a doctor's prescription.

Alternatively, you may take extra strength Tylenol 650mg thrice daily as a substitute to Tramadol.

If you find my response helpful and informative, do not forget an “excellent” (5-star rating) to my answer, to ENCOURAGE ALL doctors- engaged in social service- to render sound advice to the FREE queries.
