When Should I Put My Child On Cow's Milk?

Hi my 14 month old daugher had a chest infection and was prescribed antibiotics followed by steroids which finished last Sunday. Someone recommended i give her a probiotic in her formula which i have done since monday. Since tuersday she has beeb having one very bad nappy a day sour smelling up the back poo - she is drinking 10oz of her formula per day - she is waking a bit more often during the night crying but her soother and my voice send her straight back to sleep but it is happening 3-4 times per night which is unlike her. The form is good happy and smiling during the day.

She is still on formula - my friends are saying i should put her on cows milk now. sorry for long winded question

Pediatrician 's  Response
Thanks for the query.
Night episodes may be due to colic pain in the tummy of baby which is normal.
You can try burping the baby for some more time than usual (ideal is 20 to 30 mins.)
Yes after one year you can start with the cows milk but don't offer more than 3 cups of milk a day or your child may not have room for the other foods she needs to round out her diet. If your toddler's still thirsty, offer water.
Foul smelling stools if they are watery may be due to infection.
Consult doctor if problem persists.
Hope i helped you.
