Hi!venkat,
Welcome to HealthcareMagic forum,

venkat ,treatment of lip vitiligo is difficult, but not impossible.Treatment depends upon whether the patches are spreading(active) or are they stable(inactive). If they are spreading then you need to stop the spread by taking oral steroids and immuno-modulators.Along with this you can take some photo sensitizers like melanocyl to give it color.
Once the patches are stable say for more than 6 months ,then you can go for surgery called BLISTER ROOF GRAFTING.
This is a very specialized surgery where in a blister is created on the abdomen and this thin skin is grafted over the lips ,after dermabrassion of lip skin. This gives good result .You can see details in my web site www.skinhairclinic.com.(vitiligo section).

I hope this answers your question,if you have any further question ,you can write back to us.
.
regards,
Dr.chawda

Hi doctor, I am 28 years old woman. I have been biting my lips and often tear off the dried skin of my lower lips from my childhood. So from the childhood my lower lips started turning pale and now became white, slowly leading to depigmentation in my lower lips. When I was pregnant (2 months), patches increased. I have no other patches like this in any other parts of my body. Doctors asked me to abort since I got German measles when I was 2 and half months pregnant. It has been 5 months since abortion. After abortion also patches increased even inside of my upper lips. I have sinus problem, so often I breathe through mouth only. My office and bed room in my home are also fully air conditioned. I went to a dermatologist and he gave my tablet named Patchex for one month and asked me to apply a lotion named Vitibex. He also gave an oinment for mouth ulcer. I have oral herpes infection and often I have cold blisters in my lips. But when I was pregnant and after getting that German measles and till now , I have no cold blisters. I am afraid whether it will be vitiligo. Please suggest me whether it is a vitamin deficiency and what are all the foods I have to take for repigmenting my lips.

I'm male and 19 years old. I have 2 bald patches at either side of my hairline. Its not receded at all, and I've had the patches since I was very young, hiding them with long hair. I looked around and the closest hairloss conditions I could find that match mine were Alopecia Areata and Triangular Alopecia. Is there any way of correcting this, or is surgery the only option? also will this correct itself? I've had this since I was probably 13-14 I think.

My daughter is a crohn's sufferer, diagnosed 12 months ago. She is on immunosuppressants and suffers repeat bladder infections. The crohn's itself is under control (we think) but today she is in pain again with an urgent need to pass water and there has been blood in her urine which has been absent with previous infections. She has mentioned her illness to doctors when getting treatment for "water infections" and they have been fairly dismissive of a link to crohns. The problem is we do not know what to expect if a flare-up occurs. Could this latest symptom (blood in her urine) be a symptom of flare-up or should we stop being concerned and assume it is another water/bladder infection? I would like her to go to A&E and get it checked but don't want to touble doctors unnecessarily.

I have had 3 c sections and since my last one 2 years ago I have had general discomfort in my lower mostly left abdomen. Lately I have had frequent urgent uncomfortable urination, with negative urine culture. Had renal ultrasound today that looked fairly normal I think. Wonder about scar tissue? Also I have ulcerative colitis but haven't had a serious flair in about 2 years.
