What To Do As My Son Is Having Diarrhea?

Hello. My 14 month old son has diarrhea for over a week now. The stool is yellow, smells sweet and sour, and there is plenty of it. The texture of it is kind of yeasty, like a mousse. He has good appetite but he passes plenty of this stuff and seems to have more gas too. What to do?

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,
Thank you for asking question on health care magic.
Most of the diarrheas are self limited.
Usually there is alteration of color and consistancy depending on the change of formula or offering new foods.
Sporolac one sachet daily may help.
Zn solution 20 mg daily also gives some relief.
Plenty of fluids to prevent dehydration.
Metronidazole surup is worth trying with the advice of your doctor.
Hope this answer will serve your purpose
Please feel free to ask any more queries if required
Take care
