Polycystic ovaries,obesity and hypothyroidism,Anemia,Lower than normal body mass index, Crash dieting,stress can all cause delayed or irregular periods. The cause should be treated effectively.Any history excess facial hair growth,acne and weight gain should be ruled out. Pelvic ultrasound,Thyroid tests,complete blood counts should be done to further manage the symptoms.Hormonal pills can be started once hormonal imbalance is identified.
