Hi,

Althea is an oral contraceptive pill. It comes with 21 hormonal pills composed of Cyproterone Acetate and Ethinylestradiol. Users are required to take one pill daily starting from the first day of the cycle, at exactly the same time for 21 days. And then, they are expected to go for 7 pill free days. During these pill free days, they should get menstruation cycle.

Commonly seen side effects of Althea include: breast tenderness, vomiting, nausea, headache, abdominal discomfort and lower abdominal pain. Delayed menstruation cycle can happen till use of 2 packs of Althea.

Initially, such side effects are common and would stabilise over a period of time. If such symptoms continue to bother you, you need to seek medical attention by consulting your doctor promptly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
