What Medications Are Suggested For Purple/blue Coloration Of Legs Due To Sunburn?

I recently got a severe sunburn on Monday. I couldn t stand up without pain for the first couple of days. Now, the pain is bareable. I went to the doctor but all they gave me was ibuprophen and they told me to get aloe vera. Which cooled it, but didn t take away the pain. But i ve noticed that my legs are turning purple/blue. Why is this? And what can i do for them now? Also, how long will i be in pain?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi and thanks for this query.

I am so sorry to hear about this sunburn. If ibuprofen could not control the pain, talk to your doctor for evaluation and possible change of pain medications. Pains would depend on how fast the wound heals. However, good pain management would control the pains and not cause any further discomfort. Please, always stay hydrated, avoid prolonged sun exposures and try using protective creams when in the sun.

I wish you well.
