What Leads To Black Ear Drum And Poor Hearing In One Ear?
Male 52 y/o has a lot of ear wax bilaterally, but right eardrum is opaque (I have an otoscope from when I cared for my mom). The L eardrum is black. We just did two candles and drew out a lot of orange wax but the eardrum is still black and does not even look like it made any difference. His hearing has been poor which is what made me think to look in his ears. I was very surprised when I saw the opaque on the right and black on the left. What could this possibly be - I am not thinking it is impacted wax anymore ???
Black ear drum is due to inflammation occurred due to some fungal infection. Use Clotrimazoleear drop 2-3 drops 4 times in a day. Meet your primary care doctor to achieve these. You can consult ENT doctor for his poor hearing.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
