What Is The Treatment For Severe Cold Amd Cough With Greenish Mucus Filled Nose And Lungs?
I started out with a cold, and i have copd. now my head and nose and lungs are full of greenish phlem. Coughing up alot of phlem and going on 7 days now. The only relief I can get is with vicks nyquil . I still am not better. Doctor is out of the question until i get my insurance due to obama care. This is crazy. I am really sick any advice for treating this at home?
COPD can be associated with recurrent chest infections , bacterial or viral.
In addition to the vicks that you are using, you may want to try to a mucolytic which would break up the mucus in your chest so that it can be expelled easier.
Some examples of mucolytics are bisolvan, mucomyst, guifenesin. These should be available over the counter.
It is possible that you may need antibiotic therapy which would not be available without a prescription from a doctor.
I hope this helps
