Psychiatrist 's  Response
Hi,

I read your query and can understand your concern regarding your condition as well as regarding medications.

Klonopin (Clonazepam) helps in reducing anxiety. Taking high doses of clonazepam will help for the time being, but slowly you will start taking tolerance to the drug, and start needing more and more of it.

To really help in reducing the number and frequency of episodes and controlling your disorder, I would suggest the use of some other agent like selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors. You can discuss regarding this with your psychiatrist. In addition you can also start doing relaxation exercises like progressive muscular relaxation and deep breathing for calming yourself.

Hope this information was helpful. Best wishes.
