What Is The Softball Size Knot Below The Knee Of Mine?
Hi, I had a collision and it resulted in a softball sized knott on my shin just below the knee. The swelling has subsided for most part but the area around it is now bright red and warm to the touch. Also, dark purple bruising has developed on the ankle and heel that do not hurt.

I think it can be bursitis. It is collection of fluid inside the cushion of the knee. This is not very dangerous situation. I would suggest you following.
1. Hot water fomentation
2. Compression bandage
3. Needle aspiration of fluid from that swelling
4. Brufen for pain relief
