What Is The Remedy For Swellin And Pain After The Meniscus Surgery?

I had minor meniscus surgery about 8 months ago - 3 complex tears...the surgery was done arthroscopically - healed well...but the swelling continued - another MRI showed a bone bruise and "new reactive subchondral bone marrow edema in the posterior aspect of the lateral femoral condyle with focal hypointensity seen in the subchondral region"...I have been off of it for months...crutches, unloader brace, even a wheel chair for a time - but it does not seem to heal..the swelling and pain and tightness continues...my doctor is going to send me to another doctor for a 2nd opinion...what could be going on?!?!
