What Is The Remedy For Rashes Around Genital Area,thighs And Buttocks?

I have been having an itching rash all over my body for two weeks now. The concentration of the itching is around my genitals and mostly my thighs and buttocks. The rash is barely visible, but the itching is horrible! I saw a doctor two weeks ago about it and he determined it to be an allergic reaction to amoxicillen. I take cold showers to relieve the itching and benedryl. It seems to be getting worse though after all this time! Shouldn't it be getting better?
