What Is The Remedy For Herniated Disc?

My son is in Bali at the moment and has got a herniated disc in his neck his chiropractor told him when he was treating him for a sore neck. He does a lot of weight training and has also been doing a job which was a lot of heavy lifting in previous years. Should he get back to NZ to get sorted as I am worried about him. He has pins and needles down his arm and in awful pain. His physio and chiropractor told him to wait a couple of days on his pain med and anti inflammatory to see how it goes. I would like your input please.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi.Thanks for writing on HCM.
I were to suggest him a neck collar/support of suitable so as to minimise the compression of nerve roots.Further relieve his pain by analgesic and anti-inflammatory medications. I would also assess the degree of herniation of the disc by doing a CT scan of the cervical spine and manage accordingly.Hope this helps you and answers your query.
