What Is The Reason For Abdominal Pain Despite Taking Ciprofloxacin For Diarrhea?
Dear Sir
I had diarrhoea in couple of months back leading to lower abdominal pain left side below umbilical. Later urinary problem started, burning sensation while passing urine, frequent spell as if half emptied the bladder,(it was diagnosed as UTI) and doctor here in the UK prescribed me Ciprofloxacin 500 mg tabs 1 twice a day.After completing the course recent microscopic examination of urine shows that there is no more infection. However, since more than a month severe unbearable pain is persisting. I have tried Diclofenac Sodium 50 mg and Paracetamol 500 mg tablets but slight or no effect of medication. More over pain during intercourse specifically at the time ejaculation.

Based on the information given you may be having recurrent urinary tract infection or a renal stone or some other infection like epididymitis. Initially, Urine culture and sensitivity test is required to identify specific sensitive antibiotic if this is due to recurrent UTI.
