My mom is 70 years old and was told she has a leaking heart valve and her heart is functioning at 10-15 percent, in the past she had surgery to repair this and now the problem has returned she only weighs 96 lbs. what is the likelihood they will perform the surgery again?

Thanks for selecting this forum.

If you can share the Echocardiography report of your mother that will help me alot and I can be able to answer specifically. Whether they have replaced the valve or performed some other surgery?
And if she is having problem again then she needs ECHO again so that we can know what is the underlying cause. Then one can be able to comment on it. And we can go for the treatment.

Kindly give more information.

Regards,
Dr. Majid Khan.
