What Is The Cause Of Frequent Vertigo?

57 yr old female, have hhc, grandmother had vertigo very ofter, my first episode app.8yrs ago. 3days ago it hit me again, ent put me on val. and bellergal po. the worse symptom for me is "wave of water" feeling behind my eyes that run thru my head and i am so tearful. i miss work today due to this and NO i do not want a "check". See I am a RN of 28 yrs and respect my carreer.

Thanks for posting your query.

There are many causes for Dizziness, from simple and easily treatable causes to serious causes .

Simple causes are :

1. Abnormalities in BP : Both high and low BP can cause dizziness.
2. Abnormalities in Blood sugars : Both high and low Blood sugars can cause dizziness.

3. Abnormalities in blood sodium levels.
4. Low Hemoglobin ( Anemia )
5. Inner Ear problems .

Some serious problems are :

1. Heart Problems
2: Brain problem



Also get your Hemogobin , Serum Sodium, Serum TSH levels checked and if they are normal get a ECG and a ENT check up done .
