I have frequent and severe anal itching after having a bowel movement. The itching is very intense and can only be remedied by washing and scrubbing the area with a mesh loofa and soap. It feels like there is a waxy film of sorts that is removed after doing this. While I know that this can cause further irritation, it is the only thing that remedies the itching. The itching does not return until late in the evening after having a bm. What could be the cause of this? It has been going on for over a year. I have examined my stool for visible parasites and have found nothing. My family at home has not experienced any of these symptoms. I have been using the same laundry detergents, soap, and undergarment material for years. What kind of GI issues could cause this? Could it be something else?
