What Is The Cause Of Black Poop After Breastfeeding?

Hi, my daugher is 7months old, her mum have chicken pox and is getting treatment. She was not breastfeeding the baby for 3months. We bottle fed her and yesterday she breastfed the baby. She is nw discharging black poop. Its nt normal . Now we confused. Is it the mothers milk affecting he coz of chicken pox

Hello. Thank you for your question. I am not concerned about the color of your daughter's bowel movements. As long as she is comfortable and there is no blood in the stool, she is ok. I would be very careful to make sure that mom is producing enough breastmilk after not breastfeeding for 3 months. As long as the baby's intake is adequate, and she is gaining appropriate weight, she is fine and you do not have to worry.
