What Is The Cause For Gas And Bloating Problems When On Providac?
Hi, I was having black stools for two weeks, I went to a doctor, he gave me antacids and i was fine within 2 days, just after the medication for two weeks I started having bloating, stomach cramps, nausea, burping and diarrhoea, I went to another doctor he did a upper GI endoscopy, it was normal but he didn't do any biopsy, he again prescribed me for antacids for one month. After I stopped the medicine I started having same pain, bloating, gas and diarrhoea, I went to doctor again he did usg and blood tests which came normal then he gave me rifagut 400 and a providac twice a day, I am currently on medication for 7 days, I have seen improvement but gas and bloating is still there. Is it h.pylori or ibs?

Hi , I am Dr Anshul Varshney , I have read your query in detail , I understand your concern.
It seems you are being treated acid peptic disease. If it is resistant to treatment by Proton pump inhibitors like Pantoprazole , that you must have received, it can be due to H.pylori infection or some other diagnosis.
You can ask your doctor to treat you for H.pylori.
I am more concerned with your complains of bloating and diarrhea. If they are acute , they might be a result of some co-incidental infection , and if not following possibilities are there :
1. Lactose Intolerance.
2. Celiac Disease.
You can get Anti TTG Antibody. And try to notice your symptoms while omitting milk based diet.
